Sustainability
“Until you dig a hole, you plant a tree, you water it and make it survive, you haven’t done a thing. You are just talking.”
-Wangari Maathai
As part of Alnoba, Pinnacle is committed to the preservation of our natural resources and the protection of our planet’s future. With a long term goal of being 100% renewable and net zero energy, we execute the following green practices and policies:
- We hire local people, buy local products, serve local food and source native materials whenever we can. Not only does this help our neighbors and community, it keeps fuel consumption down.
- Over 200 acres of our property are under conservation restrictions, permanently protecting them from development.
- Our buildings are powered by solar energy thanks to panels at The Farm at Eastman’s Corner and on the Pinnacle property.
- We have installed solar-powered electric car charging stations – the first in New Hampshire – at both Alnoba and The Farm.
- Instead of plastic bottles, we have two water stations on the property with deep wells.
- Alnoba has a property-wide recycling policy for paper, glass and plastic.
- A fleet of electric vehicles help transport people across the property.
- We compost waste whenever possible using the industrial composter at The Farm. This reduces our organic waste by more than 90% and produces rich compost for use in The Farm’s greenhouses.
- All new development at Pinnacle strives to have the least impact possible on the environment. This includes using energy efficient lighting, composing, and low flush toilets. The main building at Alnoba is heated and cooled through geothermal energy. We try to minimize our use of packaging materials, opting for recycled or compostable products as much as possible.
